Conventional Dentures vs.
Implant Supported Dentures

Removable dentures feature replacement teeth mounted on a base of pink acrylic resin. They’re supported by a metal structure and customized to fit on top of your natural gums. With implant-supported dentures, the implant posts replicate the function of natural tooth roots to keep your underlying bone healthy and prevent undesirable facial changes.

An overdenture implant can be fixed or removable. A fixed hybrid denture is permanently secured in place and offers greater stability and functionality than a removable overdenture implant. Research has shown that implants for dentures increase the retention of the prosthesis, thereby eliminating gum irritation and displacement associated with removable dentures. Furthermore, implants distribute chewing forces far more effectively and improve eating, speech, and aesthetics, resulting in increased patient satisfaction.

The Dental Implant
Treatment Process

Your treatment begins with a personalized consultation with Dr. Mencini in Mesa, AZ.  The first step in this process is to take digital impressions and use our cone beam computed tomography (CBCT) scanner to analyze your bone structure, nerve tissue, and sinus cavities and accurately plan your implant denture procedure.

Implants for dentures consist of a titanium alloy implant post, an abutment that connects the implant to the denture, and a customized modified denture. During surgery, dental implants are placed in areas of your jawbone with the greatest density and volume, usually in the front portion of your jaw. Once the surgery is complete, it takes four to six months to heal and for implants to integrate with your jawbone.

During the healing phase, you’ll wear a temporary denture so you don’t have to live another day with a missing smile. If you have an existing denture, we may be able to repurpose it to secure it to your new implants. Multiple incremental try-in fittings may be required to ensure the best possible fit and proper alignment. Once all adjustments have been made, the final implant denture is fixed in place.

The Cost of Implant Supported Dentures

Implants for dentures in Mesa, AZ cost more upfront but will save you time and money in the long run. Traditional dentures require relines and adjustments to remain secure and comfortable. About 95% of patients who receive hybrid fixed dentures don’t require replacements for 10 to 20 years, with some lasting as long as 25 years with dental technology advancements.

Taking care of fixed implants for dentures is no different from oral hygiene for natural teeth. And unlike traditional dentures, an implant denture will never slip or fall out, enabling you to eat many of the foods you love.

At Restore Denture and Implant Center, we offer an in-house payment plan and partner with third-party financing companies as well as offer transparent pricing for dental implants to help make this lasting health investment as affordable as possible.
